Three Colours: Red 1994
Plot Synopsis
Fraternity. Relationships. Blood. A complex, multi-layered narrative intertwining stories told and retold, lived and relived as connections are made and unraveled. Anchored by the almost random connections of a retired judge (Jean-Louis Trintignant), burdened by decades of secrets, his dog and part-time model Valerie (Irene Jacob), the film explores relationships, human and other, and judgments, biblical and human. It reaches a final crescendo that unites central pairs from each of the three films in a climax that forces us to rethink all our colours.
